Life Thrives Here

Challenge

Ucúquer is a little-known vineyard from the Concha y Toro family of wineries, that is a real hidden haven of nature: hard work has been put into preserving the local biodiversity, with several native species leading a safeguarded existence.

Our quest was to showcase, through a short documentary, the outstanding work being done in this vineyard through the “Life thrives here” program, in a manner that was both accurate and poetic, illustrating the wonders of Ucúquer and setting an example of sustainable practices for the entire company.

The resulting photographs and video were launched in an art show specially designed for the occasion.

Our Approach

For this work to hail the results we were looking for, we knew we had to work with the best. That is why we enlisted a filmmaking studio specialized in nature and sustainability, capable of achieving the specific shots we had in mind while also bringing their own take to the project. We spent an entire day shooting both video and photographs at Ucúquer with one absolute priority: to be as little disruptive as possible, patiently waiting to capture the local wildlife in its element.

Afterward, we consulted with biodiversity specialists to make sure the species caught on camera were indeed native and that they accurately represented the wildlife of the vineyard.

The Result

An array of carefully curated audiovisual materials that genuinely displays the wonders of the Ucúquer vineyard, and that also works as a poetic and inspiring way to communicate the sustainable efforts of Concha y Toro and the “Life thrives here” campaign.

Ucúquer and Gran Reserva also became a benchmark within the company as to how to portray sustainability, setting the tone for the rest of Concha y Toro’s portfolio worldwide.
